Michael MacDonnell

Michael Macdonnell has a strong background in healthcare and technology, with experience in various leadership roles. Michael is currently the Global Head of Healthcare & Pharma Partnerships at Huma, where they are responsible for the company's work with healthcare clients globally and its companion app business. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Global Operations & Head of Healthcare UK and US at Huma, overseeing the company's healthcare business and operations.

Before joining Huma, Michael was the Chief Operating Officer at Sensyne Health, a healthcare AI company. Michael had responsibility for the company's healthcare and life sciences divisions. Michael also worked at Google as the Director of global deployment and at DeepMind, where they were the Director of Partnerships and Delivery. At DeepMind, they played a key role in developing Streams, an AI-powered assistant for clinicians.

In addition to their experience in the private sector, Michael has worked in the public sector. Michael served as the National Director, Transforming Health Systems at NHS England, where they integrated health systems across the English NHS. Michael also worked as a Director in the Strategy Group at NHS England.

Michael's earlier experience includes roles at Imperial College London, where they were an Honorary Fellow and Senior Fellow, advising on health service reform and health innovation research. Michael also worked as a Director at The 10 Partnership, Senior Advisor at Adam Smith International, Advisor at The Prime Minister's Delivery Unit, and Senior Consultant at Accenture.

Michael Macdonnell earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Politics and Philosophy from McGill University between 1995 and 1999. Michael then pursued a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Political Philosophy at the University of Oxford from 1999 to 2001.
