Malaak Jamal has a diverse work experience beginning in 2011 as a Cashier and Sales associate at The Dollar Tree. Malaak then worked as an Operations Intern for the National Defense University at the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies in 2013. Following this, they interned as a UN in the Arab World Program Intern at the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs in 2014. Malaak also gained experience as an Associate Editor at The Journal of Diplomacy and International Relations from 2013 to 2014.

In 2015, Malaak joined the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) and worked their way up from a Program Intern to a Legal and Policy Research Intern, and later became a Policy Officer. In their roles, they conducted research, contributed to HRF's programs, and provided logistical support for various events. Malaak then served as a Senior Policy Officer, overseeing HRF's research efforts and ensuring alignment with the organization's mission statement. Currently, Malaak holds the position of Director of Policy and Research at the Human Rights Foundation.

Malaak Jamal completed their high school education at Jefferson Township High School from 2005 to 2009. Malaak then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham Campus, specializing in Political Science- International Relations and Sociology, with a minor in Middle East Studies. Malaak graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2013. In the same year, Malaak attended The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, where they participated in an International Affairs Program.

Malaak Jamal furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from Seton Hall University. During their time at Seton Hall University from 2013 to 2015, they focused on Human Rights, International Law, and Post Conflict State Reconstruction and Sustainability. Additionally, in 2012, they briefly studied Middle East Studies at the American University in Dubai.
