Aalia Garrett

Aalia Garrett is an experienced advocate and researcher specializing in human rights and community support. Aalia currently serves as an Editor at the Human Rights Research Center, focusing on enhancing content clarity and accuracy. Previous roles include Community Outreach Advocate at the Partnership Against Domestic Violence, where Aalia provided advocacy and support to domestic violence survivors. Aalia has held internship positions at the Human Rights Measurement Initiative and the Institute for Justice & Democracy in Haiti, contributing to human rights research and advocacy efforts. An undergraduate researcher at GLOBIS Human Rights Research Lab, Aalia assisted with various human rights measurement projects. Additional experience includes coordinating outreach and organizing events for the Guatemala Human Rights Commission and providing administrative support at GLOBE. Aalia's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from The University of Georgia and ongoing Master's studies in Global Affairs at New York University.
