Alison Thornton is the Senior Associate Director, Development & Global Initiatives at Human Rights Watch. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, Alison was the Office Manager at Bramalea Medical Group from September 1999 to January 2013. Alison has dedicated their career to fighting for human rights and is a respected leader in the field.

Alison Thornton's educational career includes a summer school course in international human rights law from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a certificate in fundraising management from The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University, and a program in international project management from Humber College. Alison also holds a bachelor's degree in history and political science from the University of Guelph.
