Max Gaitán is a research lead at HumanFirst. Max has a background in exercise physiology and has conducted research on fitness and exercise data in relation to biomarker, neuroimaging, cognitive, and metabolic clinical study outcomes. Max has also analyzed clinical study data using statistical techniques such as regression in R and SPSS software. In addition, they have disseminated research findings by publishing in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, and in non-academic venues (non-profit events, community talks, and popular media). Max has also conducted maximal exercise tests (VO2max) with 12-lead ECG, managed exercise physiology laboratory equipment, safety protocols, and staff training, and coordinated with overseeing physicians. Furthermore, they have processed and analyzed VO2max and free-living physical activity data from participants at risk for Alzheimer's disease. Lastly, they have mentored staff and undergraduate students in generating scientific hypotheses, data analyses, publication/presentations, and grant writing.

Max also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science with Honors from the University of Virginia. Max Gaitán attended Gonzaga College High School. Max is certified from the American Red Cross in Adult AED/CPR. Max Gaitán is also certified from USA Triathlon in USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach. Max is also certified from the American Red Cross in American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers.
