Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at Humanyze

Taemie Kim is a Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at Humanyze, a position they have held since February 2013. Prior to that, they worked as a Sr. Specialist at Accenture Technology Labs from August 2011 to January 2013. From September 2006 to June 2011, they were a Research Assistant in the Human Dynamics Group at MIT Media Lab, where they focused on Sociometric badges, Distributed Teams, and Collaboration Technology. In 2008, they were a Summer Intern at Palo Alto Research Center (PARC). In 2006, they were a Visiting Student at MSR Asia in the Center for Interaction Design at Microsoft, working on the Mouse Mischief project. From September 2004 to March 2006, they worked as a Research Assistant in the HCI group at Stanford University, focusing on Gesture recognition mobile interaction technique. Taemie also had a Summer Internship at SAP Labs in 2004 and worked as a Researcher at SK Telecom from December 2002 to July 2003.

Taemie Kim completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology from 1998 to 2002. During the year 2000, they also attended Simon Fraser University, although it is not specified whether they obtained a degree from there. After their undergraduate studies, Taemie pursued their Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University from 2003 to 2006. Following this, they went on to earn a PhD in Media Arts and Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they completed between 2006 and 2011.
