Philipp Adelhelm

Philipp Adelhelm is a distinguished academic in the field of materials science, currently serving as a Professor at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin since October 2019, focusing on energy storage applications including sodium-ion, lithium-ion, metal-sulfur, and solid-state batteries. Additionally, Philipp leads the Operando Battery Analysis research group at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin since March 2020. Previously, Philipp held a professorship at the University of Jena from April 2015 to September 2019, where the focus was also on energy storage materials. Philipp's earlier roles include a junior research group leader at Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen and postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University's Debye Institute for NanoMaterials Science. The academic journey began with a PhD at the Max-Planck Institute for Colloids and Interfaces, following a Dipl.-Ing. in materials science from the University of Stuttgart. Further educational experiences include studies at The University of Auckland and YKI, Institute for Surface Chemistry at KTH Stockholm.
