Kristian Rusten

Manager, Global Initiatives, France at Humentum

Kristian joined Humentum in March 2021 as a Community Engagement and Data Officer. Kristian facilitates and tracks member engagement through the maintenance and growth of our online community platform, which centers on resource curation and data management.

Before joining Humentum, Kristian worked as a freelance writer focusing on business-to-business content for non-profit organizations, but also picked up whatever work came his way, which meant writing about data, tech and gadgets, museums, and a bunch of other subjects. Before that he volunteered with asylum seekers in Greece, mainly doing casework in Thessaloniki and its surrounding areas, but did other things too, like sorting a ridiculous amount of baby clothes and monitoring the southern coast of Lesvos for a search and rescue outfit. Going way back, he did a lot of data work for Amnesty International Aotearoa New Zealand and is a long-time human rights advocate, having spent much of his youth in activism, writing letters and collecting petition signatures.

Kristian graduated from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, with a double major in History and Political Science.
