ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Research Associate / Senior Research Associate to join the Mouse Genetics department team to support our antibody development activities. The job function includes working with the team in developing new animal models for antibody discovery pipelines. The successful applicant will join and contribute to a fast-paced team with a cutting edge technology platform and ample opportunity to grow with the company. This will be a permanent role for the right candidate with ample opportunity to grow within the company.

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with a team in developing new animal models for antibody discovery
  • Plan and execute laboratory-based work with minimal instructions
  • Husbandry of mouse colony and perform experiments involving mice
  • Maintain detailed technical reports and prepare presentations for cross-functional teams
  • Contribute in cross-functional team-driven collaborations
  • Liaise with external partners and vendors as necessary to execute projects

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology or related fields with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work with mice is a pre-requisite
  • Experience in mouse colony husbandry, genotyping, handling animals for injections, blood collection and tissue harvesting
  • Proficiency in molecular biology including molecular cloning, PCR, electrophoresis, Southern blot analyses
  • Competency in cell culture and genetic manipulation of cells in vitro
  • Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and be independently motivated

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in generation of transgenic/knockout mouse models is highly advantageous
  • Experience with cloning techniques involving Golden gate and/or Gibson assemblies, long-range PCRs, recombineering, construction of YACs/BACs is highly desirable
