Jim Chaney

Jim Chaney has a extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry spanning over several decades. Jim started their career at Schlumberger as a Sales Engineer from 1982 to 1991. Jim then joined NEXEN PETROLEUM U.S.A. INC. as Chief Engineer, where they were responsible for engineer hiring and training programs, reviewing reserve bookings, and leading acquisition and divestiture teams from 1991 to 2008. From 2008 to 2010, they worked at Pioneer Natural Resources Company as a Reservoir Engineering Advisor, overseeing reserve bookings and leading acquisition and divestiture efforts. Jim later joined Hunt Oil Company, where they served as the Vice President of the West Texas Region, overseeing all aspects of the business unit and making strategic recommendations for lease acquisitions and divestitures. In 2019, they were promoted to Senior Vice President of the West Texas & Western Regions and, in 2020, they took on the role of Senior Vice President of Corporate Reserves & Evaluation Engineering.

Jim Chaney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology between 1978 and 1982.
