Simon Santamaria

Simon Santamaria is currently serving as the Vice President of the SFPE UK Chapter since March 2024 and as the Technical Development Director at Hydrock, where responsibilities include leading the Technical Development Programme for the Fire Safety Division. With a robust background in fire safety engineering, Simon has held various positions including Technical Development Manager, Senior Fire Engineer, and Fire Engineer. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Associate at The University of Edinburgh, contributing to experiments related to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, and serving as a Visiting Researcher at BRE. Simon's educational background includes multiple degrees in Fire Safety Engineering from prestigious institutions such as The University of Edinburgh and Lund University, alongside a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar.
