Akiko Ichikawa is a versatile contributor and editor with extensive experience in writing, research, and editorial roles within various organizations. Currently a freelance contributor for Penske Media Corporation’s Art in America and a copy editor for the CITI Japan project, Ichikawa has also worked as a contributing writer for Hyperallergic, specializing in underrepresented cultures. Previous roles include freelance researcher for Rest of World and Texas Monthly, and shift leader at Greene Hill Food Coop, where operational oversight and community engagement were key responsibilities. Ichikawa holds an MFA in studio art from Hunter College and a BA with honors in Visual Art from Brown University. Additional experience includes participation in a Cooperative Leadership Intensive Cohort and committee work for the Equality for Flatbush oral history project.
