Michal Sofka

Michal Sofka began their work experience in 2004 as an Image Analysis Intern at Siemens Corporate Research. From 2008 to 2013, they worked as an R&D Project Manager at the same company. In 2013, they joined Cisco Systems as a Sr. Technical Leader until 2016. In 2016, Michal started working at Butterfly Network, Inc. and 4Catalyzer as a Scientist and Software Engineer until 2019. During this time, they focused on developing new types of sensors and using deep learning for biology and medicine. In the same year, they also joined Hyperfine as a Director, leading AI and cloud teams in the development of cloud software applications and integrating advanced algorithms into MR imaging. Michal continued to work at Hyperfine as a Director, leading the deep learning team and developing prototypes for clinical applications until the present year of 2022. Michal's work at Hyperfine included leveraging AWS Kubernetes cluster for training and running algorithms on scanner GPUs and in the cloud.

Michal Sofka has a PhD in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Michal also obtained an MS in Computer Science from the same institute. Prior to that, they completed an MS in Electrical Engineering from Union College. Michal Sofka's education also includes studying Electrical Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague, although the specific degree attained is unknown.
