James Thompson

James Thompson, MBA has over 20 years of experience in the field of Information Security and Technology. Their most recent role is as the Director of Information Security at Hypertherm Associates, where they developed a scalable Cyber and Information Security Program and led the implementation of SOC through three SIEM solutions. Prior to that, they worked as the Manager and Information Security Administrator at the same company. James has also held various roles at GEI Consultants, Inc., Hypertherm, Dartmouth College, Redempsys, IAMNet Inc, Finowen, and Gordon College, where they gained expertise in IT Support, Operations, and Network Operations.

James Thompson, MBA, holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Information Technology Management from Southern New Hampshire University, which they completed from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics and Business from Gordon College, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. In addition to their degrees, they have received various certifications, including Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), CMMC RP, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Project Management Professional, Security+, PC Architecture, Lenovo Notebook Systems Service Training Course, MCP, Server+, Network+, A+, and InfraGard Member. The years of obtaining these certifications range from 2006 to 2021.
