Thomas Kapeller

Thomas Kapeller is currently the Group Head of Insurance at Hyphen Group. Prior to this, they were with EY for 11 years, where they were a Director Consulting - Financial Services. Their focus was on the Asia-Pacific Insurance and Banking Sector, and they were responsible for leading a team of 60 people.

During their time at EY, Thomas was instrumental in driving large sales and business development initiatives, as well as managing multi-country transformation programs in the Financial Services Industry. Thomas also led the Organizational Transformation team, and accomplished sales exceeding US$2 million in 2021. In addition, they established a US$ 8m+ technology modernization and digital core system pipeline across ASEAN.

As APAC account leader for large Japanese, Swiss and German global insurance carriers, Thomas expanded digital transformation solutions into new markets such as Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia. Thomas also engaged in executive coachings and thought leader on Organizational and Technology Business Transformation (Virtual conferences across ASEAN encompassed 200+ participants ), leading to multi-year transformation opportunities.

Under Thomas' Program and Delivery Leadership, they delivered a 28 project Technology, Digital and Data Analytics transformation for a large pan-Asian Life insurer; overseeing 200+ people across all initiatives. Thomas also developed a 5-year growth strategy across bancassurance, digital, health & wealth, brand and customer proposition for an international life insurer; accelerated 2 x customer growth in 2021 and accomplished highest NPS score amongst all insurance companies.

Thomas Kapeller's educational career includes completing a Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) at INSEAD in '22, a Master in International Business at Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck, and a Bachelor in International Business at Brock University.
