Erol Dogan Sumer

Erol Dogan Sumer currently serves as the Senior Engineering Manager for Autonomous Driving Software at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. since October 2023. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Ford Motor Company from May 2016 to June 2023, where responsibilities ranged from leading R&D teams focused on advanced driver assist systems to acting as a technical expert in automated driving and collision avoidance systems. Sumer also played a key role in developing next-generation technological solutions and delivered multiple patented innovations while working at Whirlpool Corporation and engaging in academic research at the University of Michigan, culminating in a PhD in Aerospace Engineering.
