Senior Mining Engineer at i-80 Gold

Charles Watts has worked in the mining industry since 2001, beginning with an internship at EP Minerals. Charles then interned at Barrick Gold Corporation and Newmont Mining Corporation in 2002 and 2003 respectively. In 2004, they returned to Barrick Gold Corporation, where they held various roles including Mine Engineer - Business Improvement Team, Survey Assistant, Mine Engineer - Underground Experience, Junior Rock Mechanics Engineer, Ground Control Engineer, Junior Ventilation Engineer, Short Range Planning Engineer, Dispatch Engineer, and Ground Control Engineer. In 2014, they moved to Northern Star Resources Limited, where they held roles as Ventilation Officer (Senior Ventilation Engineer), Contractor Engineer, Explosive Engineer, and Ventilation Technician (Junior Ventilation Engineer). Charles then worked at Klondex Mines Ltd. from 2015 to 2018 as a Senior Mining Engineer, and is currently employed at i-80 Gold Corp. as a Senior Mining Engineer.

Charles Watts attended Lake Oswego High School from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained their High School degree in General Studies. Charles then attended the University of Nevada, Reno from 1999 to 2004, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering. In June 2005, Charles obtained an Engineer Intern (EIT) certification from the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
