Witness Ramashia currently serves as a Research Fellow at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) since August 2023, following previous experience as a Laboratory Supervisor with Wits Health Consortium, where responsibilities included laboratory management and diagnostic testing. Prior roles include Medical Laboratory Technician at Wits Health Consortium, focusing on sterile insect technique and diagnostic analysis, and Medical Technologist at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, specializing in COVID-19 diagnostics in a BSL-3 laboratory. Ramashia has also gained experience as an Academic Intern at the Department of Pharmacy & Pharmacology at Wits University and as an Intern in diagnostics testing for malaria vectors. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science (MSc) in Medicine and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Genetics and Developmental Biology from the University of the Witwatersrand.
