Daniel MacIas

Daniel Macias has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Daniel began their career as a Data Analyst/IT Support at Republic Services, where they provided technical assistance for various technologies. Subsequently, they worked at The DigiTrust Group as a Cyber Security Analyst, monitoring security incidents and performing threat hunting. Daniel then joined Think Together as a System Administrator, where they developed and maintained virtual server environments. After that, they worked at eSecurity Solutions as a Jr. Security Engineer, managing firewall solutions and SIEM configuration. Daniel then joined Red8 as a Security Engineer, where they developed incident response runbooks and led authorship for remediation process SOPs. Daniel later joined Olo as a Security Engineer, responsible for detecting and defending against attacks and providing incident reports. Currently, they are working at Latch as a Cloud Security Engineer. In addition to their work experience, Daniel is an AWS DevOps Engineer Program Alumni from Level Up In Tech.

Daniel Macias obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from California State University-Dominguez Hills in 2019. Daniel is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University, with an expected completion date in 2024. Daniel also holds multiple certifications, including Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer, Palo Alto Networks Systems Engineer (PSE) - Prisma Cloud Associate, Palo Alto Networks Systems Engineer (PSE)- Foundation, Splunk Accredited Sales Engineer I, Splunk Core Certified Power User, Sumo Logic Fundamentals, eJPT (Junior Penetration Tester), Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Associate, Accredited Systems Engineer (PSE): Cortex Associate, CompTIA Security+ CE, and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
