Joaquín Gómez del Río has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Joaquín currently holds the position of Head of new renewable markets development in North and Central Europe at Iberdrola since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Enagás from 2020 to 2022 as Head of markets analysis, where they conducted strategic analysis of energy markets and monitored market fundamentals. From 2017 to 2020, Joaquín was the Head of Investment analysis and projects valuation at Naturgy, where they focused on projects profitability analysis and bid strategy definition. Before that, they served as the Head of Brazil and Colombia at Global Power Generation. Gas Natural Fenosa from 2015 to 2017, where they managed electricity generation projects. Prior to that, they held the position of Technical Control Area Manager at O&M Energy. Gas Natural Fenosa from 2014 to 2015, implementing quality, health, and safety programs. Joaquín's earlier experience includes being the Energy projects development and commissioning manager at Gas Natural Fenosa from 2012 to 2014, where they oversaw the development and commissioning of energy power projects.

Joaquín Gómez del Río completed the Program for Management Development (PMD) at IESE Business School in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a degree in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Energy Techniques from Escuela Superior de Ingenieros Industriales de Madrid. Universidad Politécnica in 1995. Joaquín also completed a degree in Engineering with a specialization in Energy Techniques from Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Industrial in the same year.
