Since its founding in 1911, IBM has been led by a team of experienced and innovative individuals. Starting with Charles Ranlett Flint as the company's first chairman, IBM has had a history of successful leaders who have helped the company grow and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of technology. Some of the company's more recent leaders include Sam Palmisano, who served as IBM's president and CEO from 2002 to 2011, and Ginni Rometty, who has been IBM's president and CEO since 2012. Both Palmisano and Rometty have backgrounds in engineering, which has helped IBM maintain its position as a leader in the tech industry.
