Role Description

We are seeking a Nonprofit AR/AP and Payroll Specialist (temporary) based in Chicago, IL, with the option for remote work. This hybrid role supports both i.c.stars and its social enterprise, i.c.stars Staffing, LLC, which provides temporary work contracts for program graduates to gain experience while exploring long-term employment opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Nonprofit Financial Operations: Set up new vendors and process payments via Bill.com, while managing accounts receivable and invoicing in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
  • Staffing Business Support: Handle new employee setup (I-9, W-4, banking info, IDs), manage timesheets, PTO, and bi-weekly payroll through Gusto, and generate payroll and client billing reports.

  • Solid analytical skills and finance expertise
  • Proficiency in accounts receivable and invoicing
  • Experience in nonprofit financial operations
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and software (QuickBooks, Gusto, Bill.com, and Ramp)
  • Effective communication and ability to work independently and collaboratively
