Joshua Coon

Joshua Coon has extensive work experience in various roles involving machine learning research, data science, and academia. Joshua is currently a Senior Vice President Lead Machine Learning Researcher at iCapital, where they lead the technical development of a data science product called Vision Service. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Vice President Lead Developer Data Science at iCapital, where they led the technical development of Vision Service and had regular meetings with various stakeholders. Before their time at iCapital, Joshua worked at Lockheed Martin as an Artificial Intelligence Researcher, where they designed and deployed a model for automated detection of anomalous regions in geospatial data. Joshua also worked at Sandia National Labs as a Senior Member of Technical Staff and a Postdoctoral Researcher, gaining experience in AI research, data analysis, and statistical methods. Additionally, Joshua has taught various math and science courses as an Adjunct Professor at Salt Lake Community College, University of Utah, and Utah Valley University. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Assistant at the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research and as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Utah, where they led discussion sections for various physics classes. Joshua Coon completed their education at the University of Utah, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in both Physics and Mathematics from 1999 to 2005. Joshua then pursued further studies at the same university and earned a Master's degree in Physics and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from 2005 to 2012. Additionally, Joshua Coon obtained a certification in Basic Python from HackerRank in March 2021.
