Francisca Lameiras

Quality Director at iCellate

Francisca Lameiras has worked in various roles since 2009. Francisca began their career as a Trainee at the University of Minho, where they were awarded a FCT Research grant on the topic "Superficial modification of Bacterial Cellulose for biomedical applications". In 2013, they became a PhD Student at TU Delft, where they researched on the topic “Transport processes in the production of organic acids by Aspergillus niger” under the supervision of Dr. WM van Gulik and Prof. JJ Heijnen. In 2017, they took on the role of Senior Researcher at Karolinska Institutet. Francisca also began working at iCellate Medical AB that same year, first as Head of Lab and then as Laboratory Engineer. In 2020, they were promoted to Quality Director at iCellate Medical AB, where they are responsible for complying with ISO 15189 and ensuring that QMS processes are established, implemented, and maintained.

Francisca Lameiras obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Biological Engineering from Universidade do Minho in 2010. Francisca then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in the same field at the same university, which they completed in 2012. Following this, they completed a Master thesis in Biotechnology at Chalmers University of Technology in 2012. Additionally, Francisca has obtained certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid from Hjärtgruppen AB, Classic Ballet from the Royal Academy of Dance, Climber from Klättercentret, and Open Water Diver from PADI.
