Giacomo Franceschetto

Prof. Dr. Claudia Felser at ICFO

Giacomo Franceschetto is a PhD student in quantum information theory at ICFO, supported by a "la Caixa" Foundation Fellowship. Franceschetto has previously worked as a Quantum Applications Engineer and intern at Quandela, focusing on reinforcement learning via quantum projective simulation. Experience includes a research internship at the Institut für Quantenoptik und Quanteninformation in Innsbruck, where Franceschetto conducted a project on superconducting quantum circuits, and a master's internship at ICFO in quantum algorithms. Earlier research involved space quantum communications and machine learning applications at INFN, alongside tutoring high school students in mathematics and physics. Franceschetto holds a Master's degree in Physics of Data from Università degli Studi di Padova and a Master's degree in Quantum Sciences from Universität Innsbruck, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Università degli Studi di Padova. Additional qualifications include a certificate in Quantum Excellence from the Qiskit Global Summer School on Quantum Machine Learning.
