P. André D. Gonçalves is a highly experienced researcher in the field of physics, currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at ICFO since January 2021. Prior to this role, Gonçalves completed two postdoctoral positions at the University of Southern Denmark and the Technical University of Denmark, where the focus was on the interaction of light with two-dimensional materials and metal nanostructures. Gonçalves earned a PhD in Physics from the Technical University of Denmark, with a thesis centered on plasmonics and light-matter interactions. Additional research experience includes contributing to the field of plasmonics and photonics at the University of Minho, where Gonçalves authored the book "An Introduction to Graphene Plasmonics." Earlier academic pursuits included an internship at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and undergraduate research involving density functional theory calculations and experimental particle physics studies related to the Large Hadron Collider. Gonçalves holds a Master of Science from the University of Porto and a Licentiate degree from the University of Minho.
