Simon Watson BSc., PhD. is a seasoned agronomist and scientist with extensive experience in the agricultural sector, currently serving as a Senior Scientist at ICL Growing Solutions since October 2024. Previously, Simon held roles such as Senior Agronomist in product development at The R&A, and Agronomist at Indigro Independent Agronomy, providing consultancy to farmers on crop, soil, and environmental issues. Simon’s notable tenure at Syngenta included positions in business development and technical management, focusing on turf, landscape, and ornamental controls across various regions. Simon also has experience as a Turfgrass Agronomist at STRI Group and as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Reading, contributing to significant research on weed seed dynamics. Educational credentials include a PhD in Agriculture from the University of Reading and a BSc in Environmental Science from Coventry University, complemented by multiple certifications in crop protection and advisory qualifications from BASIS Reg Ltd.
