Ben Bates has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Ben currently serves as the Vice President Institutional Sales at MissionSquare Retirement, where they focus on government sales in the Mountain West Territory and leads the national effort in the Education, Healthcare, and Not-for-Profit space. Prior to this, Ben held the role of Vice President Key Account at LeafHouse Financial Advisors, LLC. from 2018 to 2021.

Before joining LeafHouse, Ben worked at Nationwide Financial as a National Accounts Client Relationship Manager. In this role, they collaborated with advisors, plan sponsors, and third-party administrators to optimize operational efficiencies and achieve retirement readiness goals. Ben also engaged with external partners and fund houses to ensure client satisfaction. From 2014 to 2018, Ben assumed the position of National Client Relationship Manager, where they handled the largest and most complex cases at Nationwide.

Ben began their career at Principal Financial Group in 2008 as a Senior EBS, contributing to the company's success until 2014. Prior to that, they worked at Vanguard as a Retirement Education Specialist, delivering presentations, selling products and services, and increasing participation in employee-sponsored plans. Ben also trained and mentored newly promoted Retirement Education Specialists and conducted bilingual retirement presentations in the US and Puerto Rico.

Overall, Ben has demonstrated expertise in retirement planning, account management, sales, and client relationship management throughout their career.

Ben Bates attended the University of Arizona from 1996 to 2001, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree. Ben majored in Spanish with a minor in Finance during their time there. In addition, from 1997 to 1999, they also attended the Tecnológico de Monterrey, but the specific degree and field of study are unknown.
