Melodie Yashar

VP, Building Design and Performance at ICON

Melodie Yashar has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Melodie is currently the VP of Building Design and Performance at ICON, a company that uses 3D printing robotics and advanced materials to revolutionize homebuilding. Prior to this, they were the Director of Building Design and Performance at ICON. Melodie has also worked as a Professor of Environmental Design at the ArtCenter College of Design and as an Associate Researcher at the University of California, Davis, specializing in human/robotics/vehicle integration and performance. Melodie has held research positions at the San Jose State Research Foundation at NASA Ames Research Center and NASA Ames Research Center itself, focusing on human-computer interaction and human systems integration. Additionally, Melodie co-founded SEArch+ Space Exploration Architecture, which develops design concepts for space exploration, and worked as an Incubator Resident at Autodesk BUILD Space. Melodie has also contributed as a design director at Sonic Platforms, designing real-time interactive aural and visual content for various clients. Earlier in their career, Melodie held positions as a visiting professor at Pratt Institute and as a design architect at Studio Geiger Architecture.

Melodie Yashar has a diverse education background with a focus on design and technology. Melodie completed their Master of Human-Computer Interaction from the CMU Human-Computer Interaction Institute. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree at Columbia University. Melodie also studied Industrial and Product Design at the ArtCenter College of Design. In addition, Melodie Yashar has a background in liberal arts, having pursued English & Rhetoric with a minor in Art History at the University of California, Berkeley.
