Doug de Villiers has an extensive work experience spanning across various companies and roles. Doug started their career in 2003 as the Director and Chief Marketing Officer at Brand Union, where they worked until 2007. From there, they moved on to become the CEO of Interbrand in 2006, a position they held until 2017. In 2015, they joined Fastrack as the CEO and also took on the role of Speaker & panelist Africa Business Conference at Harvard Business School. In 2016, they became an Advisory Director at International Trademark Association (INTA). In 2017, they served as the Vice Chairman Africa at Superunion. In 2019, they held the position of Consulting Statuatory Director & Africa Brand, Marketing, Advertising & Commerce Lead at Deloitte Consulting and also became a Professor of Practice at Johannesburg Business School (JBS). Currently, they are working as the AIM Director at Iconic Collective. Throughout their career, Doug has also gained experience as a Visiting Lecturer at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and participated in various speaking engagements and panel discussions related to business in Africa.
Doug de Villiers completed multiple degrees between 1995 and 2011 in the field of Business & Marketing. Doug studied at Rhodes, WBS (unknown institution), and Unisa (University of South Africa) as well as Unisa SBL (Unisa Graduate School of Business Leadership).
