Amila Fernando

Amila Fernando has a diverse work experience in various statistical programming and analysis roles. They currently work as an Associate Principal Programmer at ICON plc since 2022. Before that, they were a Senior Biostatistical Programmer at Linical from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, Amila worked at Synteract in different roles, including Manager, Statistical Programming from 2020 to 2021, Statistical Programmer II from 2018 to 2020, and Associate Statistical Programmer from 2016 to 2018. They also worked as an Instructor at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura from 2015 to 2016 and as a Statistical Analyst at Associated Motorways (Private) Limited from 2015 to 2015.

Amila Fernando completed a Master's degree in Data Science from the University of South Wales in 2022. Prior to that, Amila obtained a Postgraduate diploma (PGDip) in Applied Statistics from the University of Colombo between 2015 and 2018. Amila also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, which was completed from 2011 to 2014.

Amila has additionally acquired several certifications, including being a Member of the Royal Statistical Society since 2022. Other certifications include SAS Programming 1: Essentials from SAS in 2021, Member of IASSL (Institute of Applied Statistics Sri Lanka) since 2020, SQL for Data Science from edX in 2020, Summary Statistics in Public Health from Coursera in 2019, Python Data Structures from Coursera in 2019, Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python) from Coursera in 2019, and GCP for Clinical Trials from Barnett International in 2017.
