Raghavendra Yadavalli

Raghavendra Yadavalli, Ph.D., has extensive work experience in the scientific research field. Raghavendra currently serves as a Principal Scientist at ICON plc, where they specialize in immunoassay-based PK, ADA, and Biomarker analyses. Raghavendra'sresponsibilities include bioanalytical method development, validation, and clinical sample analysis. Raghavendra also manages analytical studies, acts as a scientific consultant to clients, and prepares bioanalytical method documents.

Prior to their role at ICON plc, Dr. Yadavalli worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Virginia from 2020 to 2021. Raghavendra then joined the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Synthetic Biology from 2018 to 2020. During this time, they successfully established a marine protozoan parasite as a stable heterologous expression system and engineered its genome using CRISPR/Cas9 methodology.

Dr. Yadavalli's career began at Cleveland State University, where they served as a Doctoral Researcher from 2013 to 2018. Raghavendra'sresearch focused on in-vitro cell-based assays and the culturing of clinical and lab isolates of the Plasmodium falciparum parasite. In addition to their research, they also worked as a Graduate Student Instructor, teaching undergraduate and graduate-level labs in various fields including Immunology, Histology, Microbiology, and Parasitology. Raghavendra was responsible for designing and instructing courses, supervising students, and conducting lab exams.

As a Pre Doctoral Fellow at Cleveland State University from 2010 to 2013, Dr. Yadavalli independently developed a method for efficient and cost-effective synthesis of difficult/cytotoxic malarial antigens. Raghavendra also designed affinity-based protocols for protein purification and employed bioinformatic tools for characterizing malaria vaccine candidates.

Raghavendra Yadavalli Ph.D. received their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Biotechnology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, from 2004 to 2008. Raghavendra then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Regulatory Biology at Cleveland State University, completing the degree from 2013 to 2018.
