Tom Vogel

Senior Vice President at ICR

Tom has more than 15 years of experience as a senior strategic communications executive in financial services and capital markets following more than 15 years as an award-winning journalist. He has advised C-suite executives of public and private companies on issues ranging from critical transactions to reputational challenges in the U.S., Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Tom’s clients have ranged from institutional and alternative asset managers, private equity investors, banking, insurance, fintech, and cryptocurrency market makers to management consulting, law, accounting, cybersecurity, healthcare and telecommunications firms, among others. His clients have included Adams Street Partners, Assured Guaranty, BlueMountain Capital, Brasil Telecom, BrightSphere Investment Group, Guidehouse, Hightower, Jaguar Growth Partners, Kearney, Landmark Partners, MetLife Investment Management, the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials, Wisconsin’s insurance commissioner, and ad-hoc creditor and equity committees of companies ranging from Satmex to PG&E.

Tom joined ICR in 2021 after co-heading crisis communications at Dukas Linden PR Previously he was a director of corporate communications at Barclays Capital and Financial Security Assurance after leading capital markets and Latin America practices at Sitrick and Company. Before Sitrick, Tom was a bureau chief and columnist for the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg in New York, Caracas and São Paulo. He was a Pulitzer Prize team finalist at the Journal.

Tom earned his B.A. in English from the College of the Holy Cross and his M.S. in Journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
