Tommy Fanning

Tommy Fanning started their work experience in 1990 as a Marketing Executive at IDA Ireland and held this role until 1999. From 2000 to 2003, they worked as the Head of Business Development at Deutsche Bank. Then, they joined State Street International as the Head of Business Development in 2003 and left in 2004. Tommy returned to IDA Ireland in 2004 as the Manager of Financial Services until 2006 when they became the Director of Asia-Pacific until 2009. From 2009 to 2011, they served as the Senior Vice President and Director for the Mid-West & South-East USA at IDA Ireland, with additional responsibility for the Financial Services portfolio. From 2011 to 2014, they became the Head of Engineering, Industrial & Clean Technologies Division at IDA Ireland. From 2015 to 2020, they served as the Head of Biopharmaceuticals & Food at IDA Ireland. Currently, Tommy Fanning holds the position of Head of Strategic Policy at IDA Ireland, starting in November 2020.

In 1972, they completed their Leaving Certificate at Christian Brothers School in Dundalk, providing the foundation for their academic journey.
