Kathy Yi has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. Kathy began their professional journey at Hewlett-Packard in 1998 as a Work Experience and Education Program (WEEP) Intern. Kathy later returned to the company as a Student Employment and Educational Development (SEED) Intern in 2000. In 2003, Kathy joined Idaho Power and started as an Accounts Payable Specialist, before progressing to become a Financial Analyst, Energy Efficiency Analyst, Senior Energy Efficiency Analyst, and ultimately a Lead Energy Efficiency Analyst. In 2022, they also joined the Northwest Power and Conservation Council as a Regional Technical Forum Voting Member. Additionally, Kathy has contributed their skills to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho, where they held the positions of Weekend Manager and Family Services Manager.
Kathy Yi obtained their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting from Pepperdine University. Kathy attended the university from 1999 to 2003.
