Jim Tierney

Jim Tierney has extensive work experience in software engineering, primarily in the role of Principal Engineer. Jim started their career in 1988 at Gupta Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer and worked there until 1996. In 1996, they joined Borland Software Corporation as a Staff Engineer and eventually became a Principal Engineer in 2002. Jim worked at Borland Software Corporation until 2008 when they joined Embarcadero Technologies as a Principal Engineer. At Embarcadero Technologies, Jim served as the Technical Lead for a 4 to 5 member international development team responsible for database connectivity, cloud connectivity, and IDE tooling. In 2015, Jim moved to IDERA Software where they currently hold the position of Principal Engineer.

Jim Tierney obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Summa Cum Laude from California State University, Chico. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained various certifications in different areas including Multiplatform Mobile App Development with Web Technologies, Server-side Development with NodeJS, Front-End JavaScript Frameworks: AngularJS, Object Oriented Programming in Java, HTML, CSS, and Javascript for Web Developers, Introduction to Big Data, Data Visualization and Communication with Tableau, Rails with Active Record and Action Pack, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, Ruby on Rails: An Introduction, Data Manipulation at Scale: Systems and Algorithms, and Data structures: Measuring and Optimizing Performance. The obtained dates for their certifications range from November 2015 to December 2016.
