James Baumann attended Idyllwild Arts Academy from 2004 – 2006, graduating from the film department. He went on to achieve his BA in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Art from San Francisco State University and his MA in Strategic Communication with an emphasis on advocacy from American University in Washington, DC. James moved to Colombia, South America, to teach English and film documentaries with local nonprofits focusing on the social issues of the aftermath of the Colombian Conflict. He has been working with nonprofit educational organizations in the US since 2017. James is happy to be back with his alma mater as the Alumni Relations Manager, helping to build and maintain the network of Idyllwild Arts Academy’s remarkable graduates.
