Alexander Wyglinski

Junior Past President at IEEE Vehicular Technology Society

Alexander Wyglinski has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Alexander currently serves as the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and a Full Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute since July 2021 and March 2018, respectively. Prior to that, they held the positions of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the same institution.

In addition to their academic roles, Wyglinski is a Co-Founder of SDR-Boston: The Boston Software-Defined Radio User Group since June 2010. Alexander has also been involved in leadership positions within the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, serving as President from January 2018 to December 2019, and later as Junior Past President starting from January 2020.

Furthermore, Wyglinski has extensive experience as the Director of the Wireless Innovation Laboratory at Worcester Polytechnic Institute since August 2007, where they focus on wireless technologies and their applications. Prior to joining Worcester Polytechnic Institute, they worked as an Assistant Research Professor and Research Assistant Professor at The University of Kansas.

Their involvement in the academic and research community extends to their role as a Technical Program Co-Chair for ICST CrownCom 2007. Alexander has also served as a Research Associate at both the Centre for Advanced Systems & Technologies in Communications (SYTACom) and Agile All-Photonic Networks (AAPN) in 2005.

Alexander Wyglinski earned their B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in 1998. Alexander then went on to complete their M.Sc.(Eng.) in Electrical Engineering at Queen's University in 2000. In 2004, they obtained their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from McGill University.
