Stephen Freer

Stephen Freer has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Stephen currently serves as the EVP Clinical and Commercial Product UK at ieso. Prior to this, they held positions such as Chief Clinical Officer and UK Clinical Director at the same company. Stephen also worked as the UK Clinical Lead and Clinical Affiliate CBT Therapist at ieso. Before joining ieso, Stephen worked as a Director & Senior Therapist at South West CBT Ltd (Private Practice) and as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Exeter. Stephen also held roles as the Service Manager Somerset IAPT and Team Leader & Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist at Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Stephen has experience as a High Intensity CBT Therapist at Devon Partnership NHS Trust and as a Low Intensity Therapist at Turning Point. Stephen started their career as a Probation Officer at the National Offender Management Service (NOMS).

Stephen Freer has a diverse education history. Stephen started their educational journey at the University of Plymouth, where they obtained a BSc in Law with International Relations between 2001 and 2004. Stephen then pursued a BA (Hons) in Community Justice and Probation Studies at the University of Portsmouth from 2006 to 2008.

Seeking further specialization, Stephen completed a PGCert in Low Intensity Therapy at the University of Plymouth from 2008 to 2009. Subsequently, they pursued a PGDip in IAPT High Intensity Therapy CBT at the University of Exeter from 2009 to 2010.

Stephen's education continued at The Open University in 2014, where they completed the Mary Seacole Program in Health Care Leadership offered by the NHS Leadership Academy. Later, they enrolled at the University of Exeter and obtained a Master's degree in Psychological Therapies Practice and Research, focusing on High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy between 2017 and 2019.

In 2019, Stephen pursued further education at the University of the West of England and is currently enrolled in an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.

Alongside their formal education, Stephen has obtained additional certifications. Stephen attained BABCP Accreditation as a Cognitive Psychological Therapist (CBT) from the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) in April 2012. In 2018, they received certification in Product Management and Product Marketing for digital technology products from Product Focus.
