Data Center Engineer

IEX is looking for a Senior Data Center Engineer to join our Enterprise Infrastructure team, primarily responsible for maintaining the physical deployment of equipment and cabling infrastructure at our data centers in Northern New Jersey and Chicago. You are comfortable handling large amounts of data, as you'll be crafting reports and the administrator of our Data Center Inventory Management System.

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain the health of all IDF and Data Center UPS systems
  • Oversee all electrical and mechanical maintenance activities for MEP infrastructure contained in IDF and Data Center facilities.
  • Compile weekly, quarterly and annual reports and metrics. Provide data and reporting of KPI’s and trends to IT leadership.
  • Assist different internal groups with remote hand and feet support where applicable (reboot servers, escort vendors to facilities)
  • Assist with updating Data Center and IDF closet policies and procedure documentation for Data Center Services Support items.
  • Manage and maintain Data Center and IDF Closet inventory of UPS, portable AC units and cabling.
  • Assist with scheduling of maintenance activities or repairs.
  • Ensure Data center and IDF closet standards are maintained.
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors.
  • Update IDF closet and Data Center rack elevations in DCIM (DCTrac) software utility tool.
  • Design rack layout, create rack elevation, and cable run sheets.
  • Responsible for the physical deployment of equipment, asset management and cabling.
  • On-call rotation
  • Be available to with work evenings and weekends.  

You Are:

  • 3-5 years of prior data center experience
  • Ability to work independently within given framework.
  • Hands-on experience installing server and switching infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of standard network and server hardware
  • Familiarity with standard methodologies around structured cabling and data center rack layout
  • Experience in inventory management and asset tracking
  • Excel proficiency
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs
  • Willing to travel to multiple data center locations in Northern NJ, Chicago and Manhattan.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting annual base pay is between $125,000 and $150,000 for this NY-based position. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The annual base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for bonus and equity.
