Florence Rabier

Florence Rabier serves as the Director General at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts since October 2013, reinforcing international leadership in weather forecasts and environmental monitoring. Previously, Florence held the role of Director of Forecasts at ECMWF, contributing to operational implementations and model diagnostics. Additional positions include Fellow at Académie des technologies, Member of the International Scientific Board at iFAB, and Chair of the Advisory Committee on Earth Observations at the European Space Agency. Prior experience includes various roles at Météo-France related to data assimilation and operational modeling. Florence Rabier holds advanced degrees in meteorology, including a PhD from Pierre and Marie Curie University, and has a strong background in research and international collaboration in meteorological sciences.
