Megan Palmer

Megan Palmer is a highly experienced professional currently serving as Senior Director of Public Impact at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. since February 2023 and as Staff Designee for the Commission Chair at the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology since July 2023. At Stanford University, Megan holds multiple roles including Affiliate at the Center for International Security and Cooperation, Adjunct Professor in the Department of Bioengineering, and Executive Director of Bio Policy & Leadership Initiatives. Additionally, Megan has been involved with various organizations such as the World Economic Forum as Co-Chair of the Global Future Council on Synthetic Biology, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace as a member of the Biotechnology and Biosecurity Task Force, and the OECD in the Global Forum on Technology as a Synthetic Biology Expert. Megan’s education includes a PhD in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BScE in Engineering Chemistry from Queen's University.
