Chinonye Akunne

Chinonye Akunne has a long and varied work experience, beginning with Assistant Manager at Philips Pharmacy in 2009. In 2013, they became an Environmental Health and Safety Intern at Ceradyne Inc., a 3M company. In 2014, they held two roles at General Motors, Global Workplace Safety Representative and Global Industrial Hygienist. That same year, they were also an Occupational Safety and Health Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton and an Occupational and Environmental Hygiene Co-Op at Marathon Petroleum Company. In 2015, they were Co-Founder, Director of Business Development and Marketing at ILERA Apothecary, Co-Founder Director of Global Purchasing & Supply Chain at The Lab Drawer, and Co-Founder Director of Operations and Supply Chain at Motor City STEAM. In 2019, they became Director of Health and Safety at Gayanga Co., and in 2021 they were appointed Director Environment Health Safety at Caravan Facilities Management, LLC.

Chinonye Akunne obtained a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in Environmental Health from Eastern Kentucky University, as well as a BA in Sociology and Physical Sciences from the same institution. Prior to this, they attended St. Francis DeSales High School.
