Cianán Russell currently serves as a Senior Policy Officer at ILGA-Europe, focusing on intersex rights, health, conversion practices, data collection, trans rights, and the anti-gender movement, while also engaging with the Council of Europe and various community leaders. Previously, Cianán worked as the Global & UN Officer at Transgender Europe and as a Human Rights & Advocacy Officer at the Asia Pacific Transgender Network, where responsibilities included developing research projects, engaging with the United Nations, and coordinating advocacy efforts. Cianán's academic background includes a B.S. in Chemistry with Honors and Distinction from the University of Iowa and a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Education from Purdue University, complemented by experience in chemistry education as an Associate Director at Purdue and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology.
