Thad Hughes

Thad Hughes is a highly experienced technology professional with a strong background in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and software engineering. Currently a Member of Technical Staff at Imbue since March 2024, Thad previously served as Associate Director of Machine Learning & AI at AbCellera, leading multiple teams in developing software for high-throughput robotic assays. Prior to that, significant contributions were made at Google over a 12-year span, including roles such as Staff Software Engineer for the Radiology Team and Tech Lead Manager for the "Hey Google" hotword detection. Thad's career also includes positions at Stanford University as a Research Assistant, as well as software engineering roles at Lehman Brothers and Deephaven Capital Management. Thad holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Virginia.
