Séverine Vermeire

Séverine Vermeire, MD, Ph.D. is a staff member at the Gastroenterology Department of the University Hospitals Leuven as well as a professor of medicine and Research Director for the Biomedical Sciences Group at the Catholic University of Leuven. She has been actively involved in the development of therapeutics for inflammatory bowel disease and has authored more than 500 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Vermeire previously served as president of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization and of the Belgian IBD Research and Development Group.
