Tobias Czempiel

Tobias Czempiel currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at EnAcuity and holds honorary research fellowships at both Imperial College London and UCL, beginning in December 2023. Previously, Tobias was a PhD student at Technische Universität München from March 2019 to November 2023, focusing on extracting surgical workflow information from untrimmed endoscopic videos using advanced temporal deep learning models. Prior experience includes an internship in Computer Vision & AI at Intuitive, a working student role at iteratec GmbH, and research assistantship at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München where development of an Augmented Reality system took place. Early career involvement includes projects at Children's National Health System and work as a tutor at Reutlingen University. Tobias earned a Doctor's Degree in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Biomedical Computing from the Technical University of Munich, along with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Informatics from Reutlingen University.
