Masterplan Project Lead at Imperial War Museums

Joanne Burden has extensive work experience in project management and programme management. Joanne has worked in various organizations, including Imperial War Museums, The British Library, Crisis, Hertfordshire County Council, Natural History Museum, QCDA - Qualifications & Curriculum Development Agency, and Mouchel.

In their role as Masterplan Project Lead at Imperial War Museums, Joanne led capital projects and managed multi-million-pound budgets. Joanne was involved in projects such as the Blavatnik Art, Film and Photography Galleries and the revitalization of the paying site, HMS Belfast.

At The British Library, Joanne worked as a Project Manager for the St Pancras Transformed Programme. Joanne successfully managed the refurbishment of the library's cafés and restaurant within budget.

During their time at Crisis, a national homeless charity, Joanne served as a Project Manager for a refurbishment project. Joanne procured a design team and acted as the main point of contact for Crisis.

At Hertfordshire County Council, Joanne worked as a Programme Manager for the Connect Digitally programme, which aimed to improve online services for parents. Joanne managed a budget of £2.5 million and achieved several national accolades.

Joanne also gained experience as a Programme Manager at the Natural History Museum, where they successfully managed the delivery of the Darwin Centre.

Prior to that, Joanne worked as a Project Coordinator at QCDA - Qualifications & Curriculum Development Agency and Mouchel.

Joanne Burden completed their secondary education at Stanborough School from 1989 to 1996. Joanne then pursued higher education at the University of Bradford from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a BSc degree in Electronic Imaging and Media Communications with a final grade of 2:1.
