Sam Lenius

Sam Lenius has a strong background in hardware engineering, with a focus on power electronics and analog sensing circuitry. They have experience working in various companies, starting with Seagate Technology in 2008 as a Hardware Engineer. At Seagate, they specialized in precision analog circuitry design and layout, and their projects helped save the company $8M.

In 2012, Sam joined Google as a Senior Hardware Engineer, where they worked on the design and manufacturing of laser vision systems for self-driving cars. They were particularly skilled in power electronics and analog sensing circuitry.

From 2016 to 2021, Sam worked at Waymo as an Electrical Engineering Manager, leading a team of engineers in designing laser sensors for self-driving vehicles. They were the tech lead for power electronics and electromagnetics, and also worked on high-density printed circuit assemblies.

In 2021, Sam had a role as the Director of Hardware Engineering at Red Leader Tech, before moving on to become the Chief Technology Officer at Impulse.

Sam Lenius earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2008. Sam then pursued a Graduate Certificate in Electronic Circuits from Stanford University, completing it in 2018. Prior to their time at the University of Minnesota, Sam studied Mechanical Engineering at North Dakota State University from 2003 to 2005.
