Rabie Barakat

Rabie Barakat is a distinguished professional in the field of media and communication, currently serving as the Co-Founder and General Director of Awan since March 2019, where an independent media platform is developed that focuses on Arab and international affairs. In addition to this role, Barakat has been the Journalism and Communication Training Program Coordinator at the American University of Beirut since January 2013, and has held various academic and consulting positions at notable institutions including New York University, Deutsche Welle, and the Al Jazeera Media Institute. Barakat possesses a strong educational background, including a PhD in Media and Politics from The University of Edinburgh and a master's degree in International Relations from Lebanese American University.
